Nestled in the upper Snake River Valley lies the home of one of the top fine arts departments in the region, with students participating in several award-winning groups. RHS takes great pride in its long tradition of providing outstandind education in the performing and visual arts. Our staff of highly qualified educators help our students develop into whole-minded individuals through successful experiences in music, art and theater.
Our performing groups have enjoyed numerous awards and recognitions including appearances at state, regional and national conventions. Each year, many students in the fine arts are recognized for outstanding achievement. We encourage you to peruse our different areas and programs, meet our great staff, gain a better understanding of the fine arts curriculum, and join us for the many concerts and special events that are held each year.
Mr. Hotchkiss is the new Theatre Teacher here at Rigby High School; along with all theatre related subjects, he also teaches Introduction to Film. At this time no picture of him is available; until such a time, this brave Sloth Astronaut (Slothstronaut) will stand in for him.

About Theatre Courses
Theatre courses will offer students the opportunity to explore and learn about the Theatrical Arts. This includes performing, technical work, costume/make-up, and playwriting. Students in all levels of these courses will be challenged to apply their creative knowledge towards projects (both in groups and as individuals.)
The Troyplayers consist of students wishing to further their theatrical studies. This course is for students how have already completed a general theatre course and will focus on their finding of a personal, artistic voice. Students here will be involved with the Fall Play, compete at regionals, aid in the larger technical aspects of various performances and act as ambassadors of Rigby's Theatre Community.
For more information on the Troyplayers, go here.
This year we are proud to announce the creation of a third theatre course at Rigby, Costume/Make-Up Design. Like Troyplayers, this course is only for students who have completed a prior theatre course. This will be an in dept, hands-on course that will see students designing costumes for a variety of different (non-performed) shows as well as designing and applying various forms of theatrical make-up. This course will require a fair amount of preparation and drawing skills are a bonus. Through this course, students will learn how to show character and story through both costume and make-up.
Thank you for visiting the RHS Fine Arts!
